Quick update (not that anyone reads this all but w/e xD)

So hopelessly behind on the Dragon Age and Book things BUT.
I went on a little holiday to France and the UK and had an insanely busy week.

And today and tomorrow I have to work work work like crazy.

So hopefully I will be able to sit on my ass Sunday and basically just catch up on everything.

I honestly have to say I've never actuallly given the OST much attention.

Okay just basically spent the last hour listening to DA:O and DA2 soundtracks xD
I honestly only now realised that the DA2 ending is sung by Florence + The Machine. Wow.

Hrmmmm .. tough choice actually. Because somehow throughout the game, I never really payed much attention to the music. Even though it added a great deal to the atmosphere of everything.

But yeah, I think I'm going with Dragon Age Origins (very original title, guise).

Especially the beginning, oh man. I just feel like playing DA:O again now. Gets me pumped up xD

I do have to make a special mention of Leliana's Song.
Especially the lyrics.
I don't know what language they are in. Speculating on some kind of Elvish.
But apparently these are the translations:

"Elder your time is come
Now I am filled with sorrow
Weary eyes need resting
Heart has become grey and slow
In waking sleep of freedom

We sing, rejoice
We tell the tales
We laugh and cry
We love one more day"

I mean come on D':
This is so Dragon Age like.

Day 11: OTP

I don't know if it actually counts as a classic, but I'd have to go with ..

Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

I still haven't read all the stories, so I can't go with "The Adventures", or "The Memoirs", ..
But so far I really do like A Study in Scarlet.
I basically started reading the stories because of the BBC series and the movies. I just love Holmes, Watson, Moriarty, Moran, ... hnngggg yes. xD

To be completely honest, I haven't read that many classic stories actually. I should change that. I definitely want to read The Great Gatsby sometime soon.

Day 11: A book that changed your opinion on something

Oh god yessss, favourite day or what. 8D

  • Varric: So a human, an elf, and a dwarf walk into a bar...
  • Anders: The human says, "You're lucky you're so short. That hurt like mad!"
  • Varric: You could have just stopped me, Blondie.
  • Anders: Why waste a perfectly good set-up?

  • Isabela: So, how good is Donnic? Is he cocksure?
  • Aveline: (Sighs) Just... get it out of your system.
  • Isabela: Did he curl your toes?
  • Isabela: Dwarf your beard?
  • Isabela: Arl your Eamon?
  • Isabela: Shank your Jory?
  • Isabela: Praise your Maker?
  • Isabela: Grope your grinder?
  • Isabela: Establish his canon?
  • Isabela: Kaddis your Katie?
  • Isabela: Dampen your Divine?
  • Isabela: Pamper your Paragon?
  • Isabela: Grey your Warden?
  • Isabela: Pudding your peach?
  • Isabela: Float your frigate?
  • Isabela: Explore your Deep Roads?
  • Isabela: How about "satisfy a demand of your Qun."
  • Isabela: Or did he Cup your Joining?
  • Isabela: Or master your taint? That's an old one.
  • Aveline: Yes, all right? He is an incredibly proficient lover. Happy?

  • Isabela: So what's with that magical fisting thing you do?
  • Fenris: I'm... sorry?
  • Isabela: You know, when you stick your hand into people.
  • Fenris: Oh. That. Yes. It's a... talent.
  • Isabela: You could make so much coin with that.

  • Fenris: I thought all dwarves had beards. Where's yours?
  • Varric: I misplaced it, along with my sense of dwarven pride and my gold-plated noble caste pin.
  • Fenris: I thought maybe it fell onto your chest.
  • Varric: Oh-ho! The broody elf tells a joke!
  • Fenris: I don't brood.
  • Varric: Friend, if your brooding were any more impressive, women would swoon as you passed. They'd have broody babies in your honor.
  • Fenris: You're a very odd dwarf.
  • Varric: And you thought I was joking about the pin.

There's so many, really xD
I can spend ages on the Dragon Age wiki just reading through them xD

Day 10: Favourite song from the soundtracks

Middle Earth <3

Admittedly I love the world of Harry Potter. I love magic, and it would've been so splendid if I hadn't been a muggle xD
But Middle Earth is something else.
Okay true, Mordor isn't exactly a lovely place.
But I would've loved to grow up in The Shire, stroll through the woods of Lothlórien, read in the libraries of the White City, and go on ..
I still want to cosplay as a ranger someday :3
Oh yesssss, I love me some Middle Earth.

Day 10: Favourite Classic book

Hmmmm, I think I will have to go with a mage.

Both in Origins and in 2 actually.
When I first played the demo of 2, I started out with a warrior, but because I was such a noob I got stuck on the fight with the Ogre. So when I actually got the game, I went for a mage and I don't know how or why but I got the bugger in no time xD
Anyway, maybe also because you're more involved with the whole templar vs. mage business? And because you've got lovely Carver along? I don't know, but I like my force mage playthroughs xD Tried with a healer once, when I went through an anti-Anders playthrough, but naahhhhh.
And never ever going for blood mage. Ever.

In Origins I played the Magi Origin the first time round and yeah, loving the mage xD

Day 9: Favourite party banter

Easy peasy one.

A Letter for the King by Tonke Dragt

The bookcover is of the Dutch version, which is also the one I've grown up with.
The first time I read the book, I think I had just started secondary school and I immediately loved it.

Without telling too much about the plot .. the story is about a young squire on his eve of knighthood. During his vigil, he gets called to the aid of an old man, who asks the young boy to take a letter to a knight. Going against all rules, the squire agrees and sets off to find the knight. By the time he finds him, the knight has been murdered and the boy gets handed the heavy task of delivering the letter to the king of the neighbouring kingdom. He comes across many dangers and meets many new friends.

I loved the story so much because of the whole knight-thing, I suppose xD

Re-read it about 15-ish times.
I also own the sequel, but somehow I never really got into that one as much as this one.

They also made a Dutch movie out of the book, but I didn't really like it.
It wasn't terrible, just not a big fan of Dutch movies.

Day 9: Favourite Mythical Place in a book

I will totes get back to the memes but right now I'm staying over at a friend's because we're in the middle of a convention weekend.
It's a pretty double weekend so far.
For starters I had major issues trying to get a hold of the correct wig. Which I still haven't received btw. Because of that and because of sewing issues I nearly did not go to the con. But yeah, in the end I decided to go anyway and just bring old costumes.
It was probably the last time I wore Klavier Gavin, because his wig has seen its best days.

Anyway, so when we arrived at the con, one of my friends noticed her wallet got stolen. Which resulted in a lot of panic and a trip to the police station. So it wasn't exactly a super con day, but it was all good fun.
And we had bacon for dinner. So that's pretty damn good :3

Lots of amazing cosplays as well! Finally saw a judge Gabranth (FFXII) cosplay. Which has like, made my life. Because all the creys for the Fon Ronsenburg bros <3

Tomorrow another con day :D
Sadly no duo cosplay. But still excited for it! Going as Souji Seta/Yu Narukami/MC/Protag (I SWEAR THEY NEED TO STOP GIVING THIS GUY EVEN MORE NAMES) from Persona 4.

Pictures will undoubtedly follow :)

Dragon Age meme - Day 7: Favourite quest

Setting aside the companion quests for Isabela, Fenris and Anders (although the one where Isabela takes off and the one with Anders in the sewer resulting the Chantry to go boom are not particulary my favourites), my favourite quest would probably be ..

A Murder of Crows (DA2)

Mainly because I get to see this sexy ass elf again xD

No really, Alistair may be my favourite love interest, but Zevran. Oh hello. He's like the Jack Harkness of Dragon Age; he'd do anything.
So the fact he has a small cameo is perfect.
Somehow I also always make sure I have Isabela in my party at this point, which is quite lovely since the two of them know eachother. And knowing here has various meanings.

And if you let him go, he joins you in the end battle, which is quite nice.

Day 7: Least favourite quest

Honestly, the thing is .. I've read so many books and I simply can't remember everything.
So I have to keep looking at my bookshelf to see what I can come up with ..

So here's the first one that pops into my head:

Spoilers ahead! Don't read if you haven't finished A Storm of SwordsCollapse )

Day 8: A book you've read countless times
